There’s more than one way to get to Atlantic Avenue and the oceanfront. To avoid traffic congestion, we suggest the Birdneck Road exit off Interstate 264. Convenient street signs are displayed at the bottom of the exit ramp and will direct you to your desired Atlantic Avenue destination.

Metered parking is available throughout the resort area. A fee of $2.00 is charged per hour from April 1 - October 31.
All meters accept credit cards, debit cards, or coins. Payment may also be made by cell phone via Parkmobile.
Free parking at meters between 5th Street and Rudee Loop from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., but no parking is allowed after midnight. The Multi-Space Meters have been installed along the 200 block of Atlantic Avenue. As you exit your car, you will find a number at your feet, with an arrow pointing in the direction of your meter. Enter your parking space number at this meter, and pay for the time that you will need to park. For instructions on how to use the pay on foot meters, see Parkeon Meter Instructions.
Designated on-street parking for people with disabilities is available at Rudee Loop, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th, 33rd, 34th, 36th, 37th, 38th. Designated off-street parking for people with disabilities is available in all municipal lots.
To park in these spaces requires A PROPERLY DISPLAYED sticker, windshield placard, license plate, or other officially issued tag. No placard will be honored unless the person to whom the placard is issued is riding in the vehicle.
Additionally, any vehicle visibly marked with a "handicapped" tag or other form of identification may park at any metered location for free up to 4 hours. Universally-accessible ramps are located at every beach access in the resort area.
Beach St. USA Parking - No parking in these spaces from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. from June 15th - August 30th. Spaces are located at 20th and 23rd Streets.
Residential Parking Passes - Parking is allowed at any time. A Resident Permit or Guest pass must be displayed when parking from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Holiday parking restrictions require that a permit be displayed at all times. These Holidays are currently defined as:
July 2: 8 p.m. through July 6 at 6 a.m.
Labor Day Weekend: 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Tuesday

Buses and Recreational Vehicles can be accommodated in the 4th Street lot for $15 per day or $25 overnight. A Bus drop off with 15-minute parking is located on the northwest corner of 19th Street and Arctic Avenue. Bus parking is not available at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

Municipal parking lots are located near Sandbridge Market at the corner of Sandbridge Road and Sandfiddler Road. The lots charge a fee between May 1 and Labor Day. The maximum fee is $5 per day.
Parking also available at Little Island Park. This large public beach area at the southend of Sandbridge Beach (south of 3600 block) provides a great place to spend your fun-filled vacation days. The park features lifeguards, covered picnic areas with grills, bath houses/showers, lighted tennis courts, basketball court, children’s playground, and even a fishing pier. Pier open 5:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. Parking fees (Friday before Memorial Day to Labor Day):
$3 per day for residents
$5 per day for non-residents
$10 for buses and RV’s

Resident Parking Discounts - Residents can park for $3 all day at Sandbridge Beach and Little Island Park Lot (available by showing a valid driver's license with a Virginia Beach address).

Municipal parking lots are located at the Lynnhaven Boat Ramp (100 spaces) on the western side of the Lesner Bridge (fee), about 300 spaces at First Landing State Park (fee for parking is $4 weekdays and $5 weekends)
