Getting To Virginia Beach

Centrally located on the Mid-Atlantic coast, Virginia Beach is within a day’s drive of half the country’s population and just minutes from Norfolk International Airport, major train stations, and seaports. Virginia Beach makes arrival and departure simple for meeting attendees and planners alike.

For a spectacular scenic approach from the north, be sure to check out the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Please note that the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and the Elizabeth River Bridge Tunnel require tolls.

By Air

Virginia Beach is approximately 17 miles from the Norfolk International Airport and approximately 42 miles from the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport. Both airports offer service from multiple carriers with daily flights (some direct) from across the country.

Norfolk International Airport (airport code ORF)

Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport (airport code PHF)

By Car

When approaching from the west, the easiest routes are Interstate 64, U.S. 460 or U.S. 58. From the north and south, convenient routes are Interstates 85 or 95, U.S. 17 and U.S. 13 (crossing the world-famous Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, a 17-mile span connecting Virginia's Eastern Shore with Virginia Beach). These routes intersect with Interstate 64, which connects with the Virginia Beach-Norfolk Expressway (Interstate 264) and leads directly to the Virginia Beach oceanfront.

By Train

Amtrak offers train service into Newport News (with connecting bus service to Virginia Beach). Amtrak bus service is available between the train station and 19th Street and Pacific Avenue. Reservations are required. Call Amtrak at 800-USA-RAIL (800-872-7245) or visit them at www.amtrak.com.
