This Sunday, we celebrate Juneteenth—a critical moment to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.
Last June, Juneteenth became an annual federal holiday—a result of consistent advocacy, including tireless efforts from U.S. Travel’s very own Senior Director for Government Relations Treon Glenn.
Destinations across the country are taking this important opportunity to highlight the rich African American culture and history that exists in their very own backyards—resulting in collective reflection and deep appreciation for both the achievements and continued success of our fellow African American community members.
We hope you find meaningful ways to celebrate the importance of this day.
