Nominations now being accepted for the 2014 Virginia Beach Travel & Tourism Week Hospitality Awards

(Virginia Beach, Va., February 18, 2014) – The Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) invites those working in the tourism industry to nominate the “best of the best” front-line employees for the 2014 Virginia Beach Travel & Tourism Week Hospitality Awards. The awards celebration recognizes top employees and will take place on Tuesday, May 6 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. This event celebrates the resort city’s tourism industry, which is the second largest revenue driver for Virginia Beach, and a vital part of the City’s success.

The Awards Celebration is part of National Travel & Tourism Week (May 3-11), the annual salute to travel and tourism in America. The Virginia Beach CVB is looking forward to honoring employees who go above and beyond to make Virginia Beach a place visitors look forward to visiting year after year and celebrating this lucrative industry. Nomination forms can be found at www.visitvirginiabeach.com/cvb and are due by Friday, March 14, 2014.

This year, a new category also was added to the awards. Because Virginia Beach is home to some of the greatest festivals and events in the Coastal Virginia area, a new Festivals & Events category was included. This award recognizes those who work tirelessly to host events for locals and visitors to enjoy – from setup to registration. In addition, the hospitality award nomination form is now entirely online. All nominee information can be filled out online including file uploads such as photos and supporting documents for nomination. Detailed instructions are given on the form.
