Whether relaxing for a fun night out after a long meeting or looking for a great networking spot, we all appreciate a good Happy Hour. With discounts across town on refreshing drinks and delicious food, here are some Virginia Beach Happy Hours we think you should try.
Calypso Bar & Grill
Daily, 2 - 9 pm (Drinks), 2 - 7 pm (Food)
$0.79 oysters, clams mussels and wings
With the largest covered patio at the beach, we love coming to Calypso on a nice day to keep the good vibes rolling. The panoramic oceanfront views provide the perfect backdrop for a regular lineup of some of our favorite Va Beach bands, and pairs perfectly with discounted drinks and appetizers.
Sunday - Friday, 3 - 6 pm
$ 4.48 Original Orange Crush, $4.04 Waterman Crush, $4.93 Ruby Red Crush, $3.81 pints on draft, $3.50 fish tacos, $5 Buffalo tuna bites, $5 half-pound steamed shrimp
As the curators of the original recipe, the Orange Crush is reason enough to try out Waterman’s Happy Hour. Add in the $3.50 fish tacos, with either fried fish or blackened tuna, mango-jicama slaw and Sriracha aioli and we wouldn’t miss this one.
Monday - Saturday, 3 - 7:00 pm
Sunday, 11 am - 9 pm
$0.49 clams and wings, $0.59 oysters, $2.30 domestic beers, $2.99 imported beers
Small and unassuming, Big Sam’s, located in the Rudee Inlet Marina, serves up local seafood that is as fresh as the waters around it. For Happy Hour, try the East Coast Oysters served raw or steamed. If you’ve never tried oysters before, go for raw to really get the full palette of flavor that comes only from our waters.
Daily, 3 - 6 pm
At the bar only. $7 calamari, $4 wine, $2 well drinks and domestic beers
Also located at the Rudee Inlet Marina, Rockafeller’s Happy Hour is another must-try for great deals and a beautiful view. Pull up to the bar and enjoy their famous calamari and discounted drinks, any night of the week.
Monday - Friday, 3 - 7 pm
$2.50 domestic beers, $3.50 tall well drinks, $3 house wines, $0.75 wings, $0.65 oysters, $7 half-pound of steamed shrimp
With two locations, in the Oceanfront District and the Chesapeake Bay District, CP Shuckers is a local favorite across Virginia Beach and their expansive Happy Hour is a big reason why.
Sunday - Thursday, 4 - 6:30 pm
At the bar and patio only. $9 select appetizers and drinks
Located at Virginia Beach Town Center, Ruth’s Chris offers a great Happy Hour to top off your day of shopping and is a great way to experience what this famous restaurant has to offer at discounted prices.
Daily, 4 - 6:30 pm, until 9 pm on Wednesdays
$2 draft beers, domestic bottled beers, and well drinks, $3 glasses of wine and margaritas
Treat yourself to a cocktail at Hot Tuna, a local favorite with delicious seafood that is matched only by their fun atmosphere. Enjoy discounted cocktails at the outside bar by the warmth of their fire pit tables. While they offer Happy Hour daily, we recommend trying them on Wednesday night for Tapas Night, with Happy Hour pricing extending to 9 pm and select tapas options you won’t want to miss.
Daily, 4 - 7 pm
$5 select appetizers, $5 well liquors (add $2 to turn it into a cocktail), $5 house and sparkling wines
If you’re looking for modern vibes and classic drinks, Twist at Town Center is the bar for you. We like to come here before catching a show at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts or Zeiders American Dream Theater, both located just a few steps from Twist.
