A Girls’ Weekend Getaway in Virginia Beach

Ready for your next girls’ getaway? Virginia Beach has it all — sun-soaked beach days, lively nights and everything in between. Whether you’re craving adventure or want to kick back and relax, there’s something here for everyone in your group. From outdoor fun to cozy spots for drinks and laughter, you can tailor your trip to fit your vibe. Here are some ideas to help you make the most of your unforgettable girls’ weekend in Virginia Beach.

Three friends, wearing sunglasses and stylish beachwear, enjoy a day at Virginia Beach's Oceanfront while leaning on a railing with bicycles nearby.

Day One

Afternoon: Check in to your oceanfront hotel on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk and take your time settling in. The stunning ocean views will have you giddy with excitement for the unforgettable memories and fun adventures ahead with your besties.

Once everyone is ready to venture out, make your afternoon easygoing by strolling along the boardwalk to The Shack on 8th: an outdoor oasis known for its laid-back atmosphere and lively social scene. Live music, outdoor games, refreshing drinks and waterfront views will greet you upon your arrival. Whether you want to stay for a while or just pop in for a quick visit, there’s plenty of space to eat, drink, socialize and enjoy the good times together.

Evening: After you and your ladies primp and polish, we recommend ordering an Uber and heading to dinner at Cantina Laredo in Town Center. Elevated dishes inspired by the vibrant Mexico City culinary scene — but featuring our own fresh seafood, of course — pair perfectly with craft cocktails. Spice things up with Tajín Watermelon ‘Ritas and Flautitas to start, and don’t pass up this opportunity to enjoy the catch of the day … interpreted as a tasty taco. After dinner, take a stroll through Town Center for some shopping.

Late Night: If you and your crew are up for a nightcap and some more excitement, head over to Beachside Social on the Oceanfront. This spacious bar offers a fun mix of games like shuffleboard, bocce and classic board games. Not feeling competitive? No worries — the 10,000-square-foot space has a chic, beachy vibe with plenty of comfortable spots to sit and unwind with your girls. Plus, the Instagram-worthy setting makes it the perfect spot for a fun group photo.

Day Two

Morning: For a peaceful morning workout, breathe in the salty air as you participate in a beach yoga class in Sandbridge with Shine Yoga. Begin your day with an energizing, yet calming flow as you center yourself before the next adventure begins. If yoga isn’t your vibe, simply relax on the beach in front of your hotel with a cup of joe from Three Ships Coffee (located in the ViBe Creative District near the Oceanfront). Bask in the tranquility of the morning as the beach and boardwalk slowly come to life with activity.

When hunger calls, make your way to the local favorite, Doc Taylor’s. Nestled away in an old beach house near the Oceanfront, it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. As soon as you walk through the door, the delightful scent of a home-style breakfast will greet you, along with a casual atmosphere and friendly faces. Being such a popular place, you may have to wait for a table, but it’s well worth it. Whatever you’re in the mood for, their extensive menu is sure to have it, with generous portions to satisfy any appetite.

Afternoon: No girls’ getaway is complete without some spa time. Treat yourself to the ultimate relaxation at SeaHill Spa, tucked away within The Historic Cavalier Hotel. Indulge in a range of personalized treatments, from soothing massages to refreshing facials, and let yourself be pampered in a luxurious setting. Once you’re feeling rejuvenated, freshen up for lunch at Becca, also located within “The Cav,” as locals call it. Here, you can savor bright, farm-to-table dishes in an elegantly modern atmosphere — a perfect backdrop for enjoying a beautiful lunch with your besties.

Evening: Happy hour is calling, and the place to be is The Atlantic on Pacific near the Oceanfront. Enjoy expertly crafted cocktails and a tempting selection of fresh raw bar favorites. Then, just a minute walk down the road, your dinner reservation at Love Song awaits. With its cozy, dimly lit atmosphere and intimate vibe, it’s the perfect spot to relax with friends. Enjoy delicious food and drinks, with a unique menu that offers bold, quality flavors and gluten-free options. Insider tip: Make a stop at the back bar for a final sip before you leave .

Late Night: If you’re ready to dance your last night away, head up to LunaSea‘s rooftop for an unforgettable night of music, dancing and memory making.

Day Three

Morning: Before wrapping up your girls’ weekend, head north from the Oceanfront towards First Landing State Park. Take a leisurely hike through the park and you’ll find picturesque views of the expansive beach, the rolling sand dunes and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. It’s the perfect place for a few more group photos in the natural surroundings of Virginia Beach.

Afternoon: Now you’ve worked up an appetite, enjoy breakfast at Citrus near the Chesapeake Bay. Quench your thirst with a fresh-squeezed juice, and treat your taste buds to an “Eggwich” served with parmesan-rosemary tater tots or a sweet serving of French toast, sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon. The menu is quite expansive, and everything is made fresh to order. Relax and reminisce about the memories you made before you say farewell to a weekend well spent with the girls.

We really hope you enjoyed your girls’ weekend getaway.  Be sure to tag any photos you took with #VisitVaBeach so we can see them (and maybe repost them)!  It was our pleasure hosting you and we hope you will return again soon.
