Summer nights shine a little brighter at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Make fireworks part of your summer bucket list as dazzling displays light up the sky every Wednesday and Sunday through Labor Day weekend. Grab a blanket, stroll the Boardwalk or settle into the sand, then watch the coastline sparkle as one of the Oceanfront’s favorite summer traditions caps off another unforgettable day by the water.

Virginia Beach Oceanfront
Fireworks launch from a barge off 24th Street and can be viewed from nearly anywhere along the beach and Boardwalk, from 1st to 40th streets. FREE ADMISSION.
Dates/ Time
Every Wednesday and Sunday through Labor Day Weekend.
- Wednesdays: 10:00 p.m. (following the Oceanfront Concert Series)
- Sundays: 9:30 p.m.
Good to Know
One lucky family is selected each night to help cue the fireworks before the show begins, so make sure to keep an eye out for the opportunity. Before the show, arrive early to grab a spot along the Boardwalk or beach and enjoy the Oceanfront’s restaurants, live entertainment and attractions before the sky lights up.
