Don’t let winter keep you indoors—Virginia Beach has plenty to offer in February. From live concerts and comedy shows to theater performances and more, there’s something for everyone. Here’s what not to miss this month in Virginia Beach.

Mid-Atlantic Sports & Boat Show
 

January 31–February 2  

Whether you’re an avid angler, a boating enthusiast, or just starting to explore life on the water, the Mid-Atlantic Sports and Boat Show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center is the place to be. You’ll find a huge variety of the latest boat models, custom watercraft and jet skis on display, so there’s sure to be something for everyone to dream about on the show floor. Boating experts will be on-site, ready to share tips, answer your questions and help you gear up for your next adventure.

Winter Wildlife Festival
 

January 25–February 2  

Winter is the perfect time to explore the quiet, magical beauty of nature, and the Winter Wildlife Festival makes it easy to do just that. This nine-day celebration, hosted by Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation, showcases the area’s stunning coastal landscapes. Think tram tours, ranger-led walks, boat rides, skill-building workshops and more. All events, including free and fee-based activities, require pre-registration. Don’t wait—grab your spot and get ready to revel in nature.

Virginia Beach Coin Show
 

February 7-8  

Calling all coin enthusiasts! The Virginia Beach Coin Show, presented by the Tidewater Coin Club, is a must-go event at the Virginia Beach Convention Center for collectors, investors and anyone curious about the world of currency. This event is a treasure trove for collectors and investors, featuring rare coins, foreign currency and expert insights. Door prizes and raffles add to the excitement, making it a fun outing for anyone curious about currency.

Polar Plunge
 

February 7-8  

Ready to chill out for a good cause? The Polar Plunge is your chance to dive into icy waters and make a difference. The annual event raises money for Special Olympics Virginia. Here’s how it works: commit to raising $100 (or more) as a “plunger,” and as your reward, you’ll get to race full steam into the freezing cold ocean in front of the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The weekend starts with a 5K Run/Waddle on Friday, February 7 at 7 p.m. Then, gear up for the main event on Saturday, February 8 at 1 p.m.

From February 7  

The renowned Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art unveils two exciting new exhibitions on February 7. O’er the Wide and Plastic Sea features stunning sculptures and mosaics made from single-use plastics and ocean debris collected by artist Duke Riley, allowing for a powerful commentary on our impact on the environment. The second exhibit, Open (C)all 2025: Dear Earth, is a showcase filled with works of Hampton Roads artists that celebrate the beauty, diversity and fragility of our planet. Both exhibitions run through August 31, 2025.

Cupid’s Undie Run
 

February 8  

Every February, thousands of fun-loving, creatively clad runners strip down to their undies for a great cause. Known as Cupid’s Undie Run, this nationally-known pants-less party raises funds for the Children’s Tumor Foundation to support the fight against neurofibromatosis. The festivities kick off at Calypso Bar & Grill with music, drinks and dancing before heading outside to hit the pavement for a 1-mile(ish) fun run through the streets of Virginia Beach.  

Red Hot Valentine’s Ball  

February 8  

Get ready for the most glamorous night of the season. It’s the Red Hot Valentine’s Ball. This premier black tie event takes over the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel on Atlantic Avenue. All proceeds support The Noblemen, a local non-profit that helps special needs and disadvantaged children in coastal Virginia. Expect an evening of elegance and indulgence, complete with a top-shelf open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a sinfully sweet dessert bar and gourmet chocolate fountains. Capture the night at the 360-degree photo booth and dance the night away with fellow party-goers. Early bird tickets start at $159 per person. Room packages are available.

Winter Wildlife & History Tram Tour
 

February 8, 12, 17, 22 & 26  

Hop on a tram at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and head to False Cape State Park for a winter wildlife tour. This is your chance to witness first-hand the migration of the park’s waterfowl, like mallards and snow geese. The ranger-led tour includes a scenic 1-mile guided hike where you’ll learn about the park’s native wildlife and get into the history of False Cape State Park.

Whale Watching Cruises
 

Monthlong  

February is the perfect time to catch a glimpse of majestic whales off the coast of Virginia Beach. Join a 2-hour winter boat tour at the Virginia Aquarium or a whale-watching cruise with Rudee Tours for an unforgettable experience. You’ll likely spot humpback whales gracefully swimming, breaching and even slapping their tails. Keep an eye out for bottlenose dolphins, too.

Shake off the winter blues with some fantastic live entertainment in Virginia Beach this February. Whether you’re in the mood for a good laugh at a comedy show, live music or an engaging theater performance, there’s something for everyone. Here’s a sneak peek.

January 17–February 9  

Into the Breeches wraps up its run at the Little Theatre of Virginia Beach on February 9. Set during World War II, this charming comedy follows a group of determined women who take on the roles of the male actors to save a Shakespeare production. Full of humor and heart, this play is well-suited for both adults and teens.

Funny Bone Comedy Club and Restaurant
   

Throughout February  

Looking for a good laugh? Head to Funny Bone Comedy Club and Restaurant this month for a full slate of hilarious shows guaranteed to have you laughing non-stop. Catch stand-up acts like Tony Rock (February 7-8,) Tip “T.I.” Harris” (February 21-22) and Ginger Billy (February 28.)

Throughout February  

Start the year off right at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, where you’ll find a mix of symphonies, local bands and family-friendly shows. Don’t miss the James  Henry Morgan Gang (February 6,) one of Hampton Road’s favorite local bands, or Symphonicity Sister Cities: Heaven’s Door (February 16,) featuring more than 200 talented musicians. Plus, enjoying a heartwarming classic with Annie (February 21-23.) Don’t miss the return of the “Out of the Box” Emerging Artist Series, with free live concerts every Thursday at 7 p.m. from January 9 through March 6.

Head to Zeiders American Dream Theater this February for several mid-winter performances, including Live at the Z presents Mari Cornell (February 7) and Ballet Virginia: Heart & Soul (February 21-22.)
