Virginia Beach proudly recognizes VA250, Virginia’s official commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, with Stars, Stripes and Spurs: Virginia Beach Military Appreciation Weekend.
This brand-new, family-friendly event transforms the Oceanfront into a patriotic celebration of military service, American history and the community that carries that legacy forward — setting the tone for Virginia’s multi-year VA250 celebration through live entertainment, Western heritage and heartfelt tributes to those who serve.
Event Highlights | April 24-26
Bulls and Barrels Beach Rodeo (Ticketed Event)
Feel the adrenaline at the Bulls and Barrels Beach Rodeo, where some of the nation’s top bull riders and barrel racers compete for the coveted “Best of the Beach” buckle. The event also features mini bull riders and beach rodeo clowns for added excitement and family fun. Tickets required.
USO Experiences (Free Event)
Experience an interactive celebration of service with USO Experiences, featuring up-close military equipment displays, along with military-owned businesses, artists and vendors. This family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to learn, explore, and honor American service members.
Oceanfront Concert Series (Free Event)
Enjoy live entertainment all weekend long with the Oceanfront Concert Series. Programming includes nightly entertainment, headline performers and a variety of live music options designed for the whole family.
Additional Information
Road closures will be in effect along Atlantic Avenue between 17th Street and 21st Street during event times. Please plan accordingly.
