The Virginia Beach Polar Plunge is one of the coolest — and most meaningful — annual winter events on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Each year in early February, thousands of brave participants rally for an unforgettable weekend filled with fun, festivities and heartfelt purpose. From costume contests, boardwalk parades, a 5K Run/Waddle and a lively Pre-Plunge Party to the signature moment when plungers dash into the icy Atlantic, this event brings together friends, families and teams to “Go for the Cold” in support of Special Olympics Virginia.
All proceeds help empower more than 20,000 athletes of all abilities across the state, making every splash count toward inclusion, joy and community impact. Registration is now open.
