Spring in Virginia Beach

Despite our relatively mild winters, there’s always something magical about the arrival of spring in Virginia Beach. With each new bud, the world gets a little greener; with each balmy breeze, joy blooms a little brighter. For lovers of the natural world, it’s an ideal time to visit — except for the migrating whales, our sparkling waters and sugary sands are delightfully empty.

The same goes for our beautiful parks and preserves; you’re likely to see more wildlife than you will fellow hikers and bikers. Even better: our legendary strawberries are coming into season, and farms all over Pungo are bursting with fresh produce. Event season starts to ramp up as well, with everything from garden tours to rodeos plus a steady stream of music and theater. Check the Virginia Beach Event Calendar to see what’s on while you’re in town.
