"Dolphin Kayaking on the Chesapeake Bay" Our Dolphin Kayaking on The Chesapeake Bay trip is at First Landing State Park off Shore Drive. This is a moderate-skill kayaking trip that most guests find comfortable. We can accommodate children 6 years and older if they are with an agile, strong adult in a double kayak. We launch into the calmer waters of the Chesapeake Bay and paddle toward Cape Henry, as weather conditions permit. There we may find pound nets (stationary fishing nets) which attract birds and often dolphins. Please note the wind and current can sometimes be strong in this area. We typically see dolphins at this sight, in smaller numbers, although less frequently than on the ocean. Please note there is a chance our dolphin friends will play "shy" On average, this trip has roughly a 70 to 90% chance of a dolphin sighting. We typically organize this trip once or twice a week. If the Chesapeake Bayfront launch isn't favorable for launch on your scheduled day, we will switch the launch to more favorable location where we will still have a good chance of seeing dolphins (Broad Bay in First Landing State Park at 64th Street). This area normally offers the least wind and little current. This trip is $62/person.
