A Humanist Celebrant/Officiant plays a role similar to that of a traditional clergy person with one difference: humanist ceremonies express our positive, non-theistic philosophy of humanism instead of traditional faith. Humanist Celebrants conduct humanist, and nonreligious ceremonies, commitment and same-sex unions, memorials, baby namings, and other life cycle ceremonies.
