By acknowledging and honoring Juneteenth, we recognize the struggles and resilience of those who came before us and reaffirm our commitment to justice and freedom for all.

Virginia Beach is gearing up for Juneteenth at the Beach on the Oceanfront, which will feature events for the entire community, from parades and concerts to educational workshops and art exhibitions. The city is partnering with local organizations, businesses and artists to create a memorable experience that will entertain and educate residents and visitors about the significance of Juneteenth.

Highlights will include a historical reenactment that takes participants back in time to experience the struggles and triumphs of those who fought for freedom. The 5th Annual Juneteenth in the Park is free and open to the public and will feature various activities on topics from education and healthy living to financial literacy. There will also be career development opportunities, music, health and wellness sessions and more.
