Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is one of the career-technical student organizations sponsored by the Department of Education for the purpose of preparing youth for career success. Specifically, FCCLA prepares students for the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader. The annual state conference provides student members with opportunities for leadership development, and to showcase their career-readiness skills through competitive events related to Family and Consumer Sciences education. Members will compete in over 80 categories of skill events such as Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, Fashion Design, Interion Design, Leadership, Interpersonal Communication, and Entrepreneurship. State winners may receive significant college scholarships and will advance to the national FCCLA competitions held each summer.
