Virginia Beach History Museums invites the public to the Francis Land House, 3131 Virginia Beach Blvd., at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America in style!
At VA250 Fashion and LiberTea, guests will experience a historic fashion show exploring 250 years of American women's clothing. The event will trace fashion trends as they followed women's rights from the revolution to the suffragettes, and from 1960s flower power to 21st century fashion. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed to the nines in their favorite fashion era to showcase their historic styles.
Event is complete with a high tea service and tour of the Francis Land House and surrounding grounds. Tickets are $45 per person, and can be purchased online for both the 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. seatings.
Additionally, Virginia Beach History Museums seeks vintage clothing, and volunteers to model vintage clothing, at the event. Modern designers are also encouraged to apply and showcase their contemporary designs.
If you have any clothing pieces you would like to display at this event and/or are interested in being a volunteer model, please contact Maddy Laing, programs and events coordinator, at (757) 385-5118 or email [email protected] by Feb. 27.
