TowneBank Jazz Series: Ella & Ellington

Ella & Ellington will feature renowned vocalist Lena Seikaly, who performed for the Virginia Arts Festival on the Attucks Jazz Series several years back and was one of eleven semi-finalists for the prestigious 2015 Thelonious Monk Institute International Jazz Vocals Competition in L.A. This concert will celebrate two of the jazz world's most significant artists—vocalist Ella Fitzgerald and composer/bandleader Duke Ellington. Lena Seikaly has performed this program at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and draws from the songbooks of each of these prolific jazz icons. Joining Lena will be John Toomey on piano, Jimmy Masters on bass, and Frank Russo on drums.
