Tchaikovsky's stirring Marche slave brings the afternoon to a climax in a dramatic work born from conflict that starts as a funeral dirge and ends with hopeful splendor. The harp and piano soloist then steps onto the podium as composer and conductor in a finale of peace and love within her own work, Rendezvous.
