Get ready for an unforgettable week of surf, sun, and community spirit as the 63rd Annual Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships (ECSC) returns to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront from August 17 to 24, 2025. As the oldest continuously running surf contest in the world, ECSC has been a cornerstone of East Coast surf culture since its inception in 1963.
ECSC attracts surfers, ranging from young "Menehunes" to seasoned "Masters," all competing for East Coast surfing titles and prizes. The event features a variety of surfing disciplines, including shortboard and longboard competitions, showcasing the talents of both professional and amateur surfers.

Coastal Edge ECSC 5K
Kick off your Sunday with the Coastal Edge ECSC 5K on August 24 at 7:00 AM. The race starts at 2nd Street on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk and offers a scenic, flat course along the oceanfront. All finishers receive a custom medal and commemorative tee.
ECSC is proudly produced by the Virginia Beach Jaycees, a nonprofit organization dedicated to community service and development.
