Don’t let winter keep you indoors—Virginia Beach has plenty of events to offer this February. From live concerts and comedy shows to theater performances and wine festivals, there’s something for everyone. Here are the can’t-miss February events in Virginia Beach.
Winter Wildlife Festival
January 24–February 1
Catch the tail end of the nine-day Winter Wildlife Festival. Bundle up and get a glimpse of the wildlife hanging out in Virginia Beach in the colder months, with a spotlight shining on the region’s migratory birds. The event is hosted by Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and offers tram tours, ranger-led walks, boat rides, skill-building workshops and more. All events, including free and fee-based activities, require pre-registration. Spots fill up fast, so we recommend signing up prior to your visit.

Virginia Beach Coin Show
February 6–7
The Virginia Beach Coin Show, presented by the Tidewater Coin Club, is a must-go event at the Virginia Beach Convention Center for collectors, investors and anyone curious about the world of collectible currency. This event is a treasure trove for collectors and investors, featuring rare coins, foreign currency and expert insights. Door prizes and raffles add to the excitement.

Polar Plunge
February 6–7
Ready to chill out for a good cause? The Polar Plunge is your opportnity to dive into icy waters and make a difference. The annual event raises money for Special Olympics Virginia. Here’s how it works: commit to raising $100 (or more) as a “plunger,” and as your reward, you’ll get to race full steam into the freezing-cold ocean in front of the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The weekend starts with a 5K Run/Waddle on Friday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. Then, gear up for the main event on Saturday, February 7 at 1:00 p.m.

Coastal Virginia Magazine WineFest
February 7–8
Wineries from all over the state gather at the Virginia Beach Convention Center for the Coastal Virginia Magazine WineFest. In addition to several wineries, the event also welcomes ciders, distilleries and a cash beer garden from Chesapeake’s Big Ugly Brewing. Add live music into the mix, and you’ve got yourself a fantastic February event. Tickets start at $35.
Virginia Wasteland Expo
February 7–February 8
Are you a fan of the Fallout game or the Fallout TV series? If you answered yes, the Virginia Wasteland Expo at the Virginia Beach Convention Center is definitely for you. Dress up in your favorite Fallout cosplay and enjoy all of the two-day event’s seminars and activities to the fullest.

ValenTide’s at the Virginia Aquarium
February 14
Skip the usual chocolates and flowers and treat your Valentine to a romantic night under the sea at ValenTide’s, the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center’s adults-only (21+) evening event. From 6:00–9:00 p.m., enjoy an all-inclusive date night featuring gourmet, movie-themed food stations throughout the North Building exhibits, plus an open bar with beer and wine. Want to make it extra special? Add a custom underwater message placed inside an aquarium for $100 (limited availability). Tickets are $150 per person, and proceeds support the aquarium’s animal care, education programs, research, conservation efforts and Stranding Response Program.
Red Hot Valentine’s Day Ball
February 14
Get ready for the most glamorous night of the season. It’s the Red Hot Valentine’s Ball. This premier black tie event takes over the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hote on Atlantic Avenue. All proceeds support The Noblemen, a local non-profit organization that helps special needs and disadvantaged children in coastal Virginia. Expect an evening of elegance and indulgence—complete with a top-shelf open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a sinfully sweet dessert bar and gourmet chocolate fountains. Capture special moments at the 360-degree photo booth and dance the night away with fellow partygoers. Earlybird tickets start at $159 per person. Room packages are available.

Cupid’s Undie Run
February 21
Every February, thousands of fun-loving, creatively clad runners strip down to their undies for a great cause. Known as Cupid’s Undie Run, this nationally known pants-free party raises funds for the Children’s Tumor Foundation to support the fight against neurofibromatosis. The festivities kick off at Calypso Bar & Grill with music, drinks and dancing before heading outside to hit the pavement for a one-mile(ish) fun run through the streets of Virginia Beach.

Sandler Center for the Performing Arts
Throughout February
This month, the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts has a little something for everyone. Looking for a little magic in your life? Catch magician Justin Willman on February 20. Hoping to listen to an American blues icon? Keb’ Mo’ will be in town on February 21. Want to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence? The Virginia Beach Musical Theater is putting on four performances of 1776 from February 27 to March 1. The Dome
Throughout February
Enjoy an incredible night out at The Dome this February. Chris Tucker (February 6) will have you in stitches with his stand-up comedy set, October London (February 7) brings silky-smooth soul music to life and Mariah the Scientist’s (February 20) modern R&B tracks will have the audience wanting even more. Funny Bone Comedy Club
Throughout February
This February, some big names are coming to Funny Bone Comedy Club. Marlon Wayans starts off the month (January 30– February 1), with other great comedians like Will Burkart (February 12), Tony Rock (February 13–15), and Filipe Esparza (February 20–21) taking the stage soon after. Little Theatre of Virginia Beach
January 16–February 8
Spend an evening at the Little Theatre of Virginia Beach enjoying their newest production, “Stick Fly.” On their Martha’s Vineyard estate, the affluent LeVay brothers bring their respective ladies home to meet the parents—only for this casual weekend retreat to be anything but calm. Secrets and drama collide with issues of racial discrimination and socioeconomic status, turning this family get-together into a must-watch powderkeg of a show. Tickets start at $25.
Zeiders American Dream Theater
Throughout February
Zeiders American Dream Theater has a whole host of performances happening this month. Enjoy Valentine’s Day weekend with the Holidivas (February 13–14), talented love song singers backed by the Tidewater Winds Big Band. A week later, Ballet Virginia (February 20–21) claims the stage with a collection of classic and contemporary pieces.
