INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL UPDATE FROM US TRAVEL
8/18/21

Every week that travel bans remain in place for the U.K., E.U., and Canada, our economy loses $1.5 billion in spending, which would support 10,000 American jobs. Additionally, families are grappling with more time away from their loved ones overseas. We continue to urge the administration to advance a reopening plan to advance our own economic recovery by welcoming back vaccinated travelers – as a starting point – from low-risk countries with high vaccination rates. Frustration continues around the international travel restrictions to the U.S. especially as IPW, our industry’s leading international inbound travel trade show, approaches.

The U.S. Travel team is working with Congress and the administration to find a solution that will allow for maximum international participation at IPW. More news on this effort will be shared soon.
