Tom Dikon’s harmonica journey began in the late 70s as a youngster in the hills of Vermont, where his musical prowess led to professional gigs while still in high school. He toured with the New England show band “Union Street” and after touring for several years in the greater New England area, he opted for a “short” stint in the Air Force…a career that lasted over 28 years.

While in the Service, Tom took advantage of learning various genres wherever the Air Force sent him--from slack key Hawaiian music in the South Pacific to vintage blues in central Europe--and rock, funk, country & swing at all points in between. While living in Belgium, he gigged regularly with blues guitar virtuoso Bill Roseman (still living in Europe) and played with European legendary harpist Ludo "Lazy Lew" Beckers, blues pianist Roland, recording bass artist Von Roberts and many others. He was a mainstay of the Brussels blues scene and gigged some of the great blues festivals and venues across central Europe in the early 90s.

Tom has since retired from the Air Force and performs/records in the Tidewater area of Virginia. In 2010 he won the regional International Blues Challenge (IBC), and competed in the 2011 IBC in Memphis   Tom's debut album, a long-awaited solo effort entitled "Been A Long Time Baby" features all original tunes he's written over the years and is receiving great reviews and Nation-wide airplay.   He fronted the fabulous "Jukes" -- AKA The Jukes Boogie Trio & Jukes Boogie Band -- a powerhouse swing/jump/blues ensemble performing approximately 75 shows a year at regional concerts, festivals, and other venues. He now does highly-acclaimed acoustic trio performances with vocalist/guitarist Jon Vallet and vocalist/bass player Rich Ridolfino.  He's a featured artist for the Tidewater Arts Outreach Program, at Natchel Blues Network events, local radio shows, regional concerts and venues, and performs highly entertaining harmonica clinics at blues festivals and various venues across the greater Hampton Roads area.   Tom also has an artist's endorsement with Hohner Harmonicas.

Tom is an accomplished customizer and teaches private lessons in the area, and is a featured harp player/vocalist with numerous artists at blues clubs and venues across Virginia. He’s shared the stage with some of the very best--from Boston blues legend James Montgomery and weekly jams with RJ Mischo in their early years, to modern day greats Peter “Madcat” Ruth, the legendary Eddie Shaw, Doug MacLeod, Billy Branch, Smokin' Joe Kubek, Chicago blues artist Fruteland Jackson, Outer Banks blues legend Mojo Collins, the amazing Todd Parrott (Charlotte, NC) and Nashville harp wizard TJ Klay--among many others. He’s a student of legendary masters James Cotton, Paul Butterfield, John Mayall, Big Walter, and Paul DeLay while pushing the envelope of modern-day techniques.

If you’re ever in the Hampton Roads area, catch one of Tom's performances with Jon Vallet, or playing with other National and regional artists. He delivers a lively, world-class performance every time.
