Since 1927, The Historic Cavalier Hotel & Beach Club has been setting the standard in Virginia Beach hospitality, and as we usher in a new era for this iconic property, we pledge to VB Smarter. The privilege of serving our guests is one that we cherish and safeguard above all else. Our commitment and highest priority continues to be the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of each and every guest. As such, we have added a number of protocols to our already rigorous cleaning and disinfection standards throughout the hotel and restaurants. Guest rooms will be fully cleaned and sanitized, including all touchpoints like hairdryers, light switches, desks, etc. In public spaces throughout the property, our staff will conduct scheduled cleanings throughout the day. We have increased the frequency of cleaning of all public space surfaces. We are adhering to all recommendations for social distancing and are placing signage throughout the hotel and restaurants with specific guidelines that will be rigorously enforced. We have either removed or rearranged furniture to allow for more social distancing. Guest capacity will continue to be monitored in elevators. When checking in, digital key options are available for no-contact access. We have increased the frequency of air filter replacements in our heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Fresh air exchange will be maximized. Associates are screened before entering the building, undergo temperature checks before each shift, and wear masks and gloves at all times. All restaurant associates will be screened daily for COVID-19 contact and symptoms and temperature checked. All seating arrangements will strictly observe the guidelines for social distancing. We have a cleaning team dedicated to each restaurant that has undergone special training on the most stringent techniques and regulatory compliance. Hand sanitizers are available throughout all restaurants and restrooms. All food and beverage staff will be wearing personal protective equipment including gloves and masks.
