National recording artists take to Virginia Beach’s oceanfront park stages with weekly musical performances by the shore during the Oceanfront Concert Series, now through August. Bring your beach chair or your beach blanket for an unforgettable evening saluting all things music. The free performances begin at 7 p.m.


Beach Blanket Movie Series

On the Beach at 29th Street
Aug. 3, 10 & 17


Claim your spot on the beach, set up a comfy blanket or beach chair and take in a family-friendly movie under the summer sky during the weekly Beach Blanket Movie Series, taking place each Thursday. Movies begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free. For a schedule of movies, visit the event website.


Symphony by the Sea Concert Series

Presented by The Breeden Company, Neptune Festival’s Symphony by the Sea Concert Series returns for its 12th season of free concerts with a schedule of delightful musical performances. All of the concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and are open to the public.


Virginia Beach Funk Fest Beach Party

Turn up the funk with an electrifying two-day showcase of music, food and vendors during Virginia Beach’s annual Funk Fest Beach Party. The festival is free and open to the public, but capacity is limited. 61st Annual East Coast Surfing Championships

Join thousands of stoked surfing enthusiasts for the world’s longest, continuously run surfing championship! The 61st Annual Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships (ECSC) is a multifaceted beach sports and entertainment festival with plentiful attractions for the whole family. 8th Annual Coastal Craft Beer Festival

Calling all fellow craft beer lovers! Celebrate and sample national, regional and local craft brews during the annual Coastal Craft Beer Festival, featuring more than 60 beers from 30 breweries, food trucks, live music and more. Tickets, which include unlimited tastings and a commemorative beer-tasting glass, are now on sale – so hop to it!


Exploring Town Center



Live entertainment continues to be the star of the show at the Virginia Beach Town Center, with a month-long schedule of live performances that’ll have you singing, laughing and dancing along.

Head to the Virginia Beach Town Center for the fourteenth season of one of summer’s most beloved event series to enjoy FREE live musical performances. Join the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art for a scratchboard lesson. This is a subtractive drawing process that involves scraping away at a dark surface with a sharp tool to reveal a lighter layer beneath. This dynamic drawing method can be used to achieve stunning levels of contrast and detail. All levels welcome.
