As the leaves begin to fall in Virginia Beach, we pull our jackets out of the closet and head outside. The cool temperatures and local feel of the season make this one of our favorite times of year to get out and enjoy the beauty of our area in full color. Here are six of our favorite fall experiences to have in Va Beach.

Enjoy our Parks

First Landing State Park is a great place to start for leaf peepers looking to take in the full palette of autumn. With the perfect temps and enchanting fall canopies, a hike, bike or leisure stroll through First Landing, as well as False Cape State Park and Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, is definitely in order.

Pick Some Seasonal Produce

Celebrate the season by stopping by a Pungo farm where you can pick your own local, seasonal produce with which to create the perfect fall meal – don’t forget to grab a farm-made pumpkin pie!

Hang Out in the Trees

Put your limits to the test at the Adventure Park at the Virginia Aquarium. You can’t get a better look at fall foliage than by being up in the trees among the leaves!

Slurp Down a Fresh Oyster

Oysters are now in season, and there couldn’t be a more perfect time to get your waders on and pluck some legendary Lynnhaven oysters right out of the Lynnhaven River during an oyster-farm boat tour with Captain Chris and Pleasure House Oysters.

Sample the Seasonal Brews

Fall is many beer lovers favorite season, and for good reason. From Back Bay Brewing to Pleasure House Brewery, and every place in between, our brewers are putting out some seasonal brews that taste like autumn in a glass and pair perfectly with a holiday feast.

Explore Our Waterways

Fall is the perfect time to hop aboard a kayak or paddleboard and navigate the many inlets, bays, and rivers of our coastal city. This is also a great way to interact with some of the species who call Virginia Beach home. You may even find yourself sharing the water with a dolphin or two.
