The Beach Report – September 3, 2010

Friday, September 3rd, 2010 by Teresa Diaz

AMF_logoWhew!  That was close. On the eve of the start of our big Labor Day weekend, Hurricane Earl threatened the Virginia Beach coast, but we were ready for him.  Luckily, he just brushed by leaving some rain and heavy surf.  He’s headed north and while we certainly wish our East Coast friends the best, we say good riddance, Earl!

We expect a beautiful, sunny Labor Day weekend, and as always, our welcome mat is out for visitors.

At posting, the only change in the weekend’s entertainment itinerary is a slight delay to the opening of the American Music Festival.  Doors for the concert at the Fifth Street Stage will open tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Entrance to the shows at Fifth Street is by passport pin; concerts at all other throughout the weekend are free.

Keep on top of the latest entertainment news by visiting BeachStreetUSA, the event organizer’s website.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll 1/2 Marathon is all systems go for Sunday!  Make sure you come out and support the runners.

Happy Labor Day and enjoy yourself as you Live the Life in Virginia Beach!
