Ron Kuhlman, Vice President of Tourism Marketing & Sales
Hello, and welcome to ShoreLines. I’m Ron Kuhlman, the Vice President of Tourism Marketing and Sales for the Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, and I get to “Live the Life” every day.
I am one lucky guy! I live, work and play in one of the greatest resort cities in the world. I could easily go on and on about what an awesome place Virginia Beach is…I could rave about our miles of clean beaches, fun attractions and great restaurants. Or share tips about the best fishing areas and which parks have camping and hiking. Sure, I could give advice on which golf courses to play or talk a mean streak about our area’s great history. OK, I can’t resist this one: did you know Capt. John Smith came ashore in Virginia Beach in 1607 before moving on to settle in Jamestown? It’s true and it’s a fascinating story…see what I mean? I just can’t stop myself! That’s why we’ve created a blog; there’s a lot about Virginia Beach to share and our new ShoreLines blog is the perfect forum.
ShoreLines will offer an insider’s look on what’s going on in Virginia Beach. Writers from different walks of life will keep it lively. We’ll post information on special events, the latest happenings and help you make the most of your visit here. You’ll be a part of the buzz before you even get here! We want you to join in the conversation, so let us know what’s on your mind and what you want to know about in Virginia Beach. Make us one of your favorites, and we promise to keep it interesting.
Now, about Capt. Smith…got a minute?
