    SEPTEMBER 2 – 3

Running the shores of Virginia Beach just plain rocks. Whether you choose a Mile in the Sand or the Half Marathon, your soles will love Virginia Beach. Lace up your sneakers and take part in the world’s largest running series, the Rock and Roll Half Marathon and 5K. This year, the series will be celebrating its 20th year from a meager start in San Diego in 1998. The Virginia Beach Rock ‘n’ Roll race is celebrating 17 years of running fun in the sun. This course is not only a perfectly flat run, but it winds you through the resort area with a finish along the beautiful shoreline. Whether you are new to the series or a Rock ‘n’ Roll running enthusiast, the perfect way to get up close and personal with Virginia Beach is on foot. The Mile on the Sand race takes place on Saturday, September 2nd and the Half Marathon and 5K races take place on Sunday, September 3rd. There’s a reason this race takes place during the American Music Festival: it really rocks. More Information Here
