The Virginia Beach Boardwalk is a concrete walkway that is accessible to individuals with varying degrees of mobility. Ramps are available at each street to take you from the Boardwalk to the sand. In addition, wooden walkways that take you onto the beach are located at 8th, 17th, 24th, and 30th Streets, along with Grommet Island Beach Park & Playground. Water edge access cannot be guaranteed at all wooden walkways due to weather and the condition of the beach. Ramps are extended as far as possible given the condition of the beach and time of year.
Designated disabled on-street parking is available at Rudee Loop, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th, 33rd, 34th, 36th, 37th, and 38th. Designated disabled off-street parking is available in all municipal lots.
