The Virginia Beach Chorale is one of southeastern Virginia’s longest-tenured performing arts ensemble and has been a foundational member of the Hampton Roads arts community since 1958. We are dedicated to quality performances, music education, and community service. As the resident choral ensemble of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, we perform a varied repertoire from classics to Broadway and rock to jazz in our main concerts, during the Christmas season and in the spring, with additional benefit and collaborative performances throughout the year. Scheduled auditions for new members are held in August and January of each year.

Mount Trashmore Park

World-renowned Mount Trashmore Park encompasses 165 acres and is comprised of two man-made mountains, two lakes, two playgrounds, a skate park and vert ramp, and multi-use paths.

The main mountain, Mount Trashmore, now 60 feet in height and 800 feet long, was created by compacting layers of solid waste and clean soil. Recognized for its environmental feat, this former landfill features a water-wise garden that boasts xeriscaping which requires minimal water.

The park also features a smaller mountain, Encore Hill, and two lakes. Lake Windsor (located along South Blvd.) is brackish water fed by Thalia Creek. Lake Trashmore (located along Edwin Drive) is freshwater and hosts various species of fish.

Fishing is permitted from land only and requires a Virginia freshwater fishing​ license​. Anglers must adhere to all State regulations regarding creel and size limits. No boats, swimming or wading is allowed in the lakes. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Kayaks are permitted at Lake Windsor.​

Kids Cove Playground:
The Kids Cove Playground at Mount Trashmore Park opened in December 2010. At nearly 26,000 square feet, the playground is comprised of three distinct play areas built on a rubber surface: a giant play structure that includes a multitude of slides, elevated walkways, climbers and more; an area that has swings for all ages and a one-of-a-kind wheelchair swing; and an area comprised of a variety of climbing structures. Benches and picnic shelters are available throughout the playground. The new play area is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is barrier-free to accommodate all children. The following items can be checked out of the park office for free with a driver license or other form of photo identification: badminton equipment, corn hole boards and bags, footballs, frisbees, horseshoes, rubber playground balls, soccer balls, volleyballs, volleyball nets and wheelchairs.​

Oceanfront, Virginia Beach

The City of Virginia Beach, Beach Events, and J & A Racing have announced the inaugural Virginia Beach Boos & Brews festival powered by the Coastal Virginia Brewery Alliance. Coming to 24th Street Park at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 11 am-5 pm.

Featuring a host of Hampton Roads breweries showcasing their fall selections, Virginia Beach Boos & Brews is the official after party for the 2022 Wicked 10k, occurring at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront from Friday, October 28 – Saturday, October 29. Guests will enjoy unlimited samplings of 40 beers from 20 local breweries and live music from local bands. Guests will also take home a commemorative sample glass.

Tickets go on sale this Monday, September 26, 2022, at 10 am, available at beacheventsvb.com. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the week of. Wicked 10K runners are $30 day of (runners must have their bib to receive the discount).
