The skate plaza has 10,400 square feet of concrete skateable area and 3,200 square feet of interior green space. Boasting several challenging components, the plaza contains a five-foot-tall quarter pipe, vert wall, rails, hubba ledges, radial ledges, stairs and handrails to provide endless skating action. Bleachers are available for spectators.
All skate participants must sign-up for a skate park pass. Industry Standard helmets are required and use of other protective pads are strongly recommended. Patrons are expected to follow posted rules and staff instructions.
Princess Anne Commons Gateway Park
Location: Virginia Beach
Princess Anne Commons Gateway Park is a renovation of the former Princess Anne Park site located at the corner of Princess Anne and Dam Neck.
This park serves as a gateway to the Princess Anne Commons corridor. The park is home to the Light Garden sculpture by internationally-known artist Dale Eldred, which was originally located at the former Virginia Beach Pavilion. The sculpture consists of sun-refraction glass panels arranged in a clustered fashion to resemble a grove of trees. Blue lighting elements produce a cloud-like feel for night illumination. The work was acquired in 1983 and was one of the first pieces of art funded by the Percent for Art program.
