Chalk the Walk takes over the Virginia Beach Boardwalk as hundreds of artists and “wanna-be artists” gather to turn the boardwalk into an impromptu canvas of color! At Chalk the Walk, participants draw four by four foot chalk drawings for three blocks along the boardwalk. This year's theme is “50 Years of Fun in the Sun.”  Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the City of Virginia Beach (1963-2013), participants will produce drawings that depict the City's rich heritage and prominence as a beach community. There are three competitive divisions: Amateur, Professional, and Youth.  The Youth division is for ages 12-16.  Children 11 and under are invited to draw for fun in a separate area. 

Trophies and cash prizes are awarded for each division.  Advance registration for Chalk the Walk is not required. Participation is FREE!!!
